Add your takedown details

Your takedown details are the name, address and email that Recon puts on every report it prepares. Hosts and registrars act on a report only when it names the owner and gives a way to reach them. Add your details once, before you need to report a clone of your store.

Why Recon needs them

A copyright notice (DMCA notice) must name the rights holder, give a postal address and an email, and carry a signature. Registrars ask for the same. Without these details, Recon cannot finish the registrar, host and registry reports.

If a case needs a report and your details are missing, the case shows Add your takedown details first. The browser blocklist step still works. The other steps stay locked until you add your details.

Add them in Settings

1. In Recon, open Settings.
2. Scroll to Takedown details.
3. Fill in the fields (see the list below).
4. Tick I own my store’s photos and product descriptions, or I’m allowed to act for the owner.
5. Click Save in the bar at the top of the page.

You can also click Add takedown details on a case. It opens the same section.

What each field is for

• Your business name: the rights holder. This is the business that owns your photos and descriptions.
• Your full name: the person who signs the notices.
• Your title (optional): shows after your name, for example Founder.
• Postal address: a real address. Hosts and registrars need it before they act.
• Phone (optional): added to the contact block of each report.
• Email for replies: hosts and registrars write back to this address. Use one that you read.
• Registered trademark (optional): for example, NORTHFELL, USPTO Reg. No. 1234567. It makes registrar reports stronger.

The checkbox is your statement that you own the content, or are allowed to act for the owner. A copyright notice includes this statement, so only tick it if it is true.

Add them from the setup guide

New stores see a Setup guide on the Overview. Its last step is Add your takedown details.

1. In Recon, open Overview.
2. In Setup guide, open Add your takedown details.
3. Fill in Your business name, Your full name, Postal address and Email for replies.
4. Tick the checkbox.
5. Click Save details.

To add your title, phone or trademark, edit the details later in Settings.

Where replies go

You send each report yourself, from your own email or the company’s form. Replies come to you, at your email for replies. Recon does not see them. When a host or registrar asks for more proof, answer them directly.
