Add or remove domains Recon watches

Recon watches the domains connected to your Shopify store. A domain is your store's web address, such as yourbrand.com. Recon uses them to look for lookalike domains, which are addresses with a name like yours. It also checks each domain's email settings and that browsers trust it. On Pro, you can also add domains that are not connected to Shopify, like a second brand or a domain you use only for email.

See the domains Recon watches

  1. In Recon, open Settings.
  2. Find the Domains card.

Each domain shows labels under its name:

  • Main domain: your store's primary domain in Shopify.
  • Sends email or Doesn’t send email: what Recon saw in the domain's email settings on the last scan. Recon runs the full email checks only on domains that send email.
  • From Shopify: the domain is connected to your store in Shopify. Recon adds these for you.
  • Added by you: you added the domain in Recon.

Add a domain

Adding domains is part of the Pro plan. You can add up to 10. See the plans on the Recon listing in the Shopify App Store.

  1. In Recon, open Settings.
  2. In the Domains card, type the domain in Add a domain, for example yourbrand.com.
  3. Click Add.

Recon saves the domain at once. The next scan covers it. To check it now, open Overview and click Run scan. One scan covers every domain.

You do not need to add domains that are connected to your store in Shopify. Recon already watches them.

When you have added 10 domains, remove one before you add another.

Remove a domain

  1. In Recon, open Settings.
  2. In the Domains card, click Remove next to the domain.

You can remove only domains you added. To stop Recon watching a domain from Shopify, disconnect it in your Shopify admin, under Settings > Domains.

If you add a domain again later, Recon brings back its earlier results.
