Your Overview page explained
The Overview page is your Recon dashboard. It shows, on one screen, whether anyone has made a clone of your store, and whether your email and domain need attention. A clone is a copy of your store on another web address.
To open it, click Overview in the Recon menu.

The badge next to the page title
The badge beside Recon Brand Protection sums up your store in a few words. Recon shows the first one that applies:
| Badge | What it means |
|---|---|
| Clone to report or 2 clones to report | Recon found clones of your store that you have not reported yet. |
| 1 reported | You reported every clone Recon found. Recon keeps checking whether each one is still online. |
| Action needed | A check found a problem to fix. |
| Worth a look | A check found something to review. It is not urgent. |
| All clear | Recon found no problems. |
| Not checked | Recon has not scanned yet. |
The line under Overview tells you how often Recon checks: every day on Pro, every week on Free.
The clone alert
When Recon finds a clone that you have not reported, a red banner shows at the top of the page. It says Clone of your store found: and the clone's address, or the number of clones found.
- Click Review clone (or Review clones when there are several).
- Recon opens the case, with the evidence and the reports it prepared for you.
When you have reported every clone, the banner changes to a short line: "You reported the clone of your store." Recon checks the clone on every scan and tells you when it goes offline. Click View to see it.
Recon does not remove clones itself. You send the reports, and the host or registrar decides whether to take the site down.
The Clones, Email and Trust cards
Each card has its own badge and three rows. Click the link at the bottom of a card to open its page. When a card has a problem, the link becomes a button.
Clones
- Lookalike addresses: how many lookalike domains Recon checked. A lookalike domain is an address with a name like yours.
- Active cases: live clones and open cases, or None found.
- Redirects: Clear, or Review when your store sends visitors to another domain.
- The link is View clones, or Review cases when a case needs you.
- Approved senders, Impersonation protection and Email signing: whether your email settings stop others from sending email as you.
- When a domain of yours sends no email, Blocked from sending email can take one of these rows.
- The link is Fix email when a check needs a fix, or View email.
Trust
- Security certificate, Blocklists and Domain renewal: whether browsers trust your store, and whether your domain is due to expire.
- The link is Fix trust problems when a check needs a fix, or View trust checks.
A card that has nothing checked yet says "The next scan will check this." or "Run a scan to check this."
Recent activity
Recent activity lists what changed lately, newest first, under day headings. Rows include new clones, emails Recon sent you, reports you sent, and fixes Recon confirmed. A scan row has a badge: Daily scan, Weekly scan or Manual scan.
Click a row to open the case or page it is about.

Run a scan
Recon scans in the background on your plan's schedule. To check now, click Run scan at the top right. Recon scans every domain it watches, one after another, and shows its progress.
At the bottom of the page, "Last scanned" tells you when the last scan ran.
Setup guide
Until setup is complete, a Setup guide shows on the page, with a "done" count such as 3 of 4 done. It stays until every step is done. Click Hide to fold it into one row.

See Getting started with Recon for each step.
Alerts about Recon itself
When part of Recon stops working, Recon tells you:
- Scans are overdue: a yellow banner shows when the last scan is more than 2 days old on Pro, or more than 9 days old on Free. Click Run scan.
- Clone detection is off: the Setup guide comes back with Turn on clone detection to do. Click Open theme editor, then click Save in the theme editor. See Turn on clone detection in your theme.
- No email for alerts: the Setup guide comes back with Confirm where alerts go. Click Confirm, check the address and click Save.
The Email and Trust pages show these problems as banners: Clone detection is off, Add an email for alerts and Scans are overdue.
On the Free plan
On Free, a You’re on the Free plan banner says what your plan includes and what Pro adds. Click View plans to compare plans, or close the banner. It comes back after 30 days.

Compare plans on Recon's Shopify App Store page.
